Every semester, we celebrate our students’ hard work and musical growth with a fun and exciting recital!
Whether it’s a student’s very first performance or their final flourish before graduation, each recital is filled with excitement, personality, and applause. Students of all ages and levels take the stage to share what they’ve been working on in a fun, supportive environment.
Family and friends are always welcome to cheer them on and enjoy a showcase of musical talent and hard work. We love seeing our students shine—and hearing the music they’ve worked hard to play!

Theory Exam
At Arpeggio Piano Academy, we proudly prepare our students for the Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA) Theory Tests every semester. These tests are a great way for students to strengthen their understanding of music and become more confident, well-rounded musicians.
Through fun, structured lessons and personalized support, we help students master the essential building blocks of music—like notes, rhythms, intervals, key signatures, and more. Our goal is to make theory learning engaging and stress-free, while encouraging a deeper appreciation for how music works.
We guide each student step-by-step to ensure they feel confident and ready for test day. It’s all part of helping them grow not just as pianists, but as true musicians.

At Arpeggio Piano Academy, we encourage students to take part in piano festivals, competitions, and auditions as exciting opportunities to grow as musicians. These events are not about winning— they’re about learning, building confidence, and celebrating musical progress!
Whether it’s performing for judges, receiving helpful feedback, or simply enjoying the experience of sharing music, students gain valuable skills that go beyond the piano—like discipline, focus, and self-expression.
We carefully guide each student through the preparation process, helping them set goals, polish their pieces, and perform with confidence. Every step is supported, and every achievement is celebrated!

Valen Angriawan
Valen Angriawan is a pianist and piano pedagogue with a passion for inspiring and engaging students throughout their musical journey. She strives to ensure that each student leaves their lesson feeling motivated, excited, and confident in how to approach their practice at home.
Valen holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and has extensive experience teaching students of all levels—from young beginners to advanced pianists. Her teaching background includes group classes, performance workshops, and university-level piano courses for both music majors and non-majors at Southern Methodist University (SMU). For the past two years, she has operated her own private studio, where she fosters a supportive, creative, and student-centered learning environment.
In her teaching, Valen also prepares students for national piano festivals, graded examinations, and state theory tests. Many of her students have earned top honors and recognitions through these programs.
As a performer, Valen has appeared on stages locally and internationally. She continues to perform and bring that artistic energy into her teaching.
In addition to her work as a teacher and performer, Valen is an active member of various music educator associations at the local, state, and national levels, staying engaged with the broader music education community.
